This barrel aged gin stars Imbue distillery’s inaugural Suburban Gin, aged in our beautiful Oak Sherry barrels. Starring locally abundant, foraged botanicals from Melbourne’s fringe suburbs, gently aged in a combination of Spanish Sherry casks and Aussie Apera barrels.
Suburban Barrel Aged Gin
Suburban’s spice notes are transformed thanks to aging in Oak Sherry barrels, into the toastiness of gently sweet nutty granola. The dry piney finish really highlights the juniper base spirit and makes a nip a wonderful accompaniment to a cheese board. Enjoy in an old-fashioned, with real maple syrup and seasonal citrus twists throughout the year (Tangelo is Mel’s personal fave!) or in the cooler weather create a warming Hot Toddy (recipe here). Feel like something lighter? Barrel aged gins make a great substitute to Whisky in cocktails like Whisky Sours and Manhattans.
